 The environment is our surroundings. The original word environment is taken from the French word “Environ” which means surroundings. Surrounding includes humans, animals, microbes, coral reefs, aquatic animals, all greeneries, abiotic elements, etc.Our environment is a precious gift , and we all should handle it with utmost care. It is the natural ecological system where we live, depending on each other for our survival. The environment can also be defined as the combination and interrelation between all Biotic and Abiotic components. The ecosystem of our environment should be maintained in a proper balance, and if any part of the ecosystem gets harm or disturbed,then the whole ecosystem will get affected. 

we had visited ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) which is a knowledge and Resource Center of Indian council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). This aids devopping and dessimination of location specific technologies at district level. And we planted a plant there with the guidance of the KVK resource person and our lectures.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Gonikoppal is the first ICAR KVK in Karnataka was established on 16th December 1976 under Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Bengaluru in Kodagu District. Initially it was functioning at Chettalli, under Central Horticultural Experimental Station (CHES). Later during the year 1992, the erstwhile Citrus Experimental Station, Gonikoppal activities were shifted to Chettalli and Krishi Vigyan Kendra started functioning at Gonikoppal.

we got to know about the procces of growing mushroom and later we got know about soil testing,

They showed as different types of soils.

Soil testing refers to chemical testing of soils for evaluating their fertility status with the objective of making recommendations of fertilizers. 

• It is also includes testing of soils for other properties like texture, pH, CaCO3 content, lime requirement, gypsum requirement etc.

• Soil testing laboratories established in different regions undertake this work and give recommendations to the farmers
